One of Bath County’s oldest buildings, Anderson Cottage has been in the present owner’s family since the 1870’s. The rambling house is actually two buildings, log and clapboard. The original four rooms housed an 18th Century tavern. It has also been a girl’s school and a summer inn. The 1820 brick kitchen is now a separate guest cottage and is the only lodging open to guests year round. A short walk to the famous Jefferson Pools, fine restaurants, galleries and spa are nearby in Warm Springs Village. Just 5 miles from downtown Hot Springs and the historic Homestead Resort.

Warwickton Manor, a magnificent brick home built by James W. Warwick in 1851, is now home to the Hidden Valley Bed & Breakfast. There has been a mill in continuous operation on this site on Warm Springs Run since 1771. The present mill building was erected in 1900 and operated as a gristmill until 1971, when the building was converted into the Waterwheel Restaurant. The Inn was created in 1972, utilizing five original 19th century buildings. Gristmill Square is like a small 19th century mountain village, with lovingly-restored historic buildings, fresh-baked muffins every morning, and an elegant restaurant housed in the converted mill.

Welcomed elements of the modern world intrude gently – each room has a private bath, cable TV and private phone line, and a day spa and gift shops are on the grounds. The seventeen rooms and suites are individually furnished in traditional décor with the feel of a country home. Many have their own fireplaces.  The Inn at Gristmill Square is also the current home to the Waterwheel Restaurant.

The Lodge at Meadow Lane Lodge & Cottages is a distinctive Country Inn, built in 1924 and meticulously maintained. The history of the Warm Springs Inn makes it one of the most unique country inns in the nation. The core brick structure of today’s inn dates from around 1843 when it served as Bath County’s first courthouse and jail. In 1907, a new court house and county jail were built in nearby Warm Springs in an area known as Germantown. Today at the Warm Springs Inn guests can still see where prisoners were held in the 19th Century and can dine in the courtroom and judge’s chambers.
